 HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise is a fully managed cloud service that delivers a unified self-service infrastructure provisioning experience to IT and application administrators and developers 1 .  It supports the deployment of bare metal, containers, and virtual machines workloads across datacenters, colocation facilities, or edge locations 1 .  It also provides a consistent cloud experience across any application or workload, whether traditional or cloud-native 1 .

One of the workload services offered as part of HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise is VMware ESXi virtual machines.  VMware ESXi is a hypervisor that enables the creation and management of virtual machines on a physical server 2 .  VMware ESXi virtual machines can run various operating systems and applications, and can be migrated, cloned, or backed up using VMware tools 2 .  HPE GreenLake Private Cloud Enterprise integrates with VMware vCenter Server to provide a seamless user interface for provisioning and managing VMware ESXi virtual machines 3 .  Users can also leverage VMware vRealize Automation and vRealize Operations for advanced automation and orchestration capabilities 3 .

HPE Synergy utilizes a master/satellite interconnect architecture to scale connectivity across multiple frames while maintaining a single management point. In this virtualization project, the 30 hypervisors will span across three Synergy frames (each frame holds up to 12 compute modules). To provide the required 50 Gb connectivity per server and the 100 Gb uplinks to the End-of-Row (EOR) switches, a pair of HPE Virtual Connect SE 100 Gb F32 Modules (the " Masters " ) is required in the primary frame. These modules provide the intelligence, the MLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation) capability, and the high- speed external ports. To extend this fabric to the remaining two frames without adding management complexity, four HPE Synergy 50 Gb Interconnect Link Modules (the " Satellites " ) are used—two per additional frame. It reduces the lead time for the solution delivery, as HPE GreenLake can provide ready-to-ship solutions in 14 days or less, depending on the availability and complexity of the solution 1 2 .

A. Use the HPE TCO and ROI calculator to develop a compelling business case that highlights the value proposition as well as essential financial metrics that are important to the customers. This option may help the customer understand the long-term benefits and savings of the solution, but it does not address the customer’s immediate concerns of lead time, IT resources, and initial cost outlay.  The customer may still face delays, complexity, and upfront expenses with the solution 5 .

B. Use the HPE Assessment Foundry to find ways to lower the amount of storage needed. Use the results of the reports to use cheaper drives in the storage array. Also HPE Pointnext services for installation. This option may help the customer optimize the storage capacity and performance of the solution, as well as simplify the installation process, but it does not address the customer’s concerns of lead time and initial cost outlay.  The customer may still face long delivery times for some components of the solution, and may have to pay a high upfront price for the solution and the services 6 7 .

C. Rebuild the solution in OCA, and look for opportunities in the tool to replace long lead time components with similar components that have shorter lead times. Also with your sales team to revise the cost of the solution to meet customer needs. This option may help the customer reduce the lead time and the initial cost outlay of the solution, but it does not address the customer’s concern of IT resources.  The customer may still have to allocate significant IT resources to deploy and manage the solution, and may compromise on the quality or performance of the solution by replacing some components 8 .
